Where did it all start?
Deepak Kanakaraju and Sanjay Shenoy had to visit Pune for a corporate training workshop for Mercedes Benz.
Unfortunately, flights got canceled due to bad weather, and they decided to go to Pune by road.
While on a 15 hour drive, they thought of doing a meet-up in the city as they were anyway in the city and wanted to see how the city’s digital marketing crowd is.
As the meet-up was an impromptu plan there was no concrete planning and no contacts to get things organized at the last moment.
However, with the help of a few dear acquaintances, we arranged a suitable venue in the short time.
Within 24 hours, all 30 tickets got sold out.
Before the meet-up began, many people reached early and started talking with each other. And realized the value creation by allowing people to network with each other than by delivering content themselves.
The room was full of energy, and high on the moment – seeing the magic on a community unfold right in front.
That’s where the idea for Digital Marketing Club was born.
Deepak, Sanjay & the team worked on the foundations of the club and went through all the possible scenarios. Finally the business plan was ready by January 2019.
